Meet Our Staff
Amanda
I started at Multitask as a workplace student in 2007. While I was doing my work placement, I found being around the clients a fulfilling experience so once my work placement ended I continued on as a volunteer. When I first came to Multitask, it was to learn about an area I knew nothing about and I was somewhat nervous! But as I went on, I found that every day the clients taught me more than I could ever teach them and they touched me profoundly, hence the continuation as a volunteer. Now I am a paid employee and that means that I can stay and be a part of some really great people's lives as well as watching them achieve their goals.

The reason why I wanted to become a Support worker was to make a difference in the quality of life enjoyed by other people. I began back in 1995 as a Volunteer Worker in Business Services, assisting in Soap Biz with the manufacturing of soap and supporting clients with their work.
I became a Casual Employee in 1998. I applied to become a Supervisor and began working in Supported employment; working in processing soap biz. I eventually managed a small business known as the Medicine Garden 3 days a week. I then moved to Day Services and started working in both the Community Participation Program and Independent Living Service full time. I was also seconded into a Team Leader position at Challenge Plus for a year. I am now Team Leader for The Life Moves and Stretch Program. I love working at Multitask because I enjoy working with people with an intellectual disability, who may also have a physical disability, to support them to live as full a life as possible in the community.

Over recent years we have expanded the number and style of services on offer. It is our belief that each person is an individual and that the model of service delivery should match the persons own requirements and abilities. We continually look for innovative, effective ways in which we can support people with disabilities to lead active lives.
