Transition to Work

The Transition to Work program is a two year program that focuses on getting young people with a disability into employment of their choice. This is achieved by providing support that may be needed to develop skills to gain employment.

How will we do this? 

Multitask delivers the program in accordance with the following principles:

Person centred - Young people and their families/advocates should be the drivers of their Transition Plans, having control over important decisions in thier programs.

Focus on employment outcomes - overcoming barriers that young people may face when looking for work.

Delivers training in a work environment - training and support is delivered to the young person in a work environment to assist them with practical learning and skill development.

Responds to changing work needs - catering for young peoples developing skills and independence.

Builds independence - includes support that is focused on building the young person's capacity to sustain work through increased independence.

Working in partnership - with young people, their families and local businesses.
